New Command Post

After searching for over a year, my quest is finally complete and a new space has been found in Manhattan to house my laboratory. Once again I, NYARTMAN have been embraced by the City's raw energy. Unhindered by cramped, substandard working conditions and mother-in-laws, I am free to unleash my superior creative genius upon the bare flesh of New York City. Perched high in Gotham's canyon walls of bricks and steel my new headquarters is a sanctuary for those seekers, and collectors in the sacred art of human temple design.

Ralph Bakshi

I just got back from Ralph Bakshi's opening at Animazing Gallery in Soho. The name of the show was Unfiltered and it consisted of his recent paintings. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to meet Mr. Bakshi. He was exactly the way I had imagined him to be, laid back, funny and basically a regular old fox. It was a wonderful experience for me to say the least. Hopefully I'll have other opportunities to hang with him in the future. It was great to see such a large turn out for his opening. There was literally a line of folks down the block waiting to get in. Hopefully God will bless him with many more healthy years so that he can in turn bless us with much more of his creative genius.

His paintings will be on display at Animazing Gallery until May 25th, which is located at 461 Broome St. (between Green and Mercer) in Manhattan. NYARTMAN would recommend that you make it your business and go pay your respects to the Godfather of American Underground Animation. The bad thing about the show was that they didn't let him paint the entire walls of the gallery. It would have been nice to have seen one of his twisted cityscapes bombed all over the walls of Animazing Gallery.

I'm Back!

For those of you that may not have known, I moved to Israel for a brief stint to focus on my painting. I lived in a beautiful community called Neve Tzuf in the Benyamine region. It was a beautiful, peaceful place full of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. During my stay, I was fortunate to be shown at the Binyamin Art Gallery (no relation to the Binyamin region) in Jerusalem on King George Street. While I was there I also received recognition by the Israel government as one of Israel's cutting edge artist. This was a wonderful experience for me; one that I will always cherish. The best thing that happened to me while in Israel was that I had a beautiful baby girl whose name is Tzuriel.

I can honestly tell you that I very much missed New York City, tattooing and you, all of my awesome clients and supporters. I am glad to be back. You will be happy to know that I have also updated my website, http://www.nyartman.com. It was in desperate need of attention, as many of you let me know. If you haven't seen the new face lift check it out. Many of you constantly hounded me to design a t-shirt. Well, I'm happy to say that your wish has been granted. You know NYARTMAN won't let you down. You not only got a t-shirt but you have many styles to choose from plus more, all available on the website.

One last note for this post. I want to hear from you. Please send me an email let me know how you've been, how's the tattoo, where are you now, etc. I really would like to here from you. At the moment I'm operating out of Brooklyn. I have a beautiful studio now in an incredible brown stone building.

Take care,

NYARTMAN
